The FIVE Must Have SHOES this New Year

Hello!! It's been some quite time since I've written..and I miss it! When I actually can find the time to sit down and do this, I consider myself a lucky gal..combining my two favorite things..style and writing!

So, Happy New Year y'all! I hope your Holidays were one of love and togetherness with those you care for and appreciate--I know mine was!

For my first blog of 2018--first I hope of many .. I'm talking my 5 top shoes every fashion fan should own! Both high end and...not so high end. (Click on pics for direct link to purchase)

First, my go to - my love - the sneaker. This shoe exemplifies to me exactly where I'm at in my life..all about style but still wanting comfort. And lucky for us, there are SO many options out there that can easily be dressed both up and down!

First is the Golden Goose...it is the standard in higher end, fashionable sneaker wear. They go with everything, look good on everyone and come in a variety of colors/styles..They're a no brainer. And this metallic style is a neutral - easily dressed up and down.

Next up, we go to the other end of the 'fancy' and price spectrum! These cuties are only $60! Double win--

Last are my recent find on Anthropolgie online - these British based sneakers are comfy, sleek and well priced...and not everyone has them--yet.

Number Two - The HEEL! One of my faves - they can be sexy, sophisticated, demure, flirty, conservative..really they can say so much about the woman who wears them..and although they are not always the comfiest to wear, they are definitely the most fun to look at!

These Zara heels are in a classic, beautiful Aubergine color that will immediately add style to any simple look--and are UNDER $60?! Steal.

These Jeffrey Campbell heels caught my eye because they are a great transition shoe from Winter to Spring--but unique at the same time! And I have these in a different color and they are SO comfortable.

Yes. I know..these are spendy but I believe (and if financially possible) every gal should have at least one pair of very nice shoes . And if you do find yourself down this road, I think Jimmy Choo are the most comfortable as well as the most classic. I love the d'orsay style (dip on the side) because it will never go out of trend but adds a little something to a basic heel. And along with the ankle strap..this shoe is timeless perfection--sexy and classic all at once. And if ankle straps aren't for you, go for the simple black heel.

This next one, I actually can't believe has come back THE MULE. When I saw these on my style muses and splashed along my IG feed, I was shaking my head - no way. However, I've fallen in love with them all over again. Back in my high school/90210 lovin days when these were all the rage, I never imagined, I'd wear them again in my 40's but .. here we are. And I'm thrilled.

These are a nice, simple way to start if you're feeling a little uneasy about this look...and they come in a variety of fun colors.

Love the mini studs on these - easy to dress up or down.

THE BOOTIE - the constant challenge for most. What I've learned through styling my clients and shopping for this proverbial shoe, is that you keep it simple, sophisticated and sleek. And I truly believe that these need to be invested in. If you buy these cheap, they unfortunately look cheap. There's just no way around it. I've tried. I'm a huge fan of saving, but for a good, classic bootie - you need to spend a little more then the usual shoe. If you disagree and have found a great inexpensive alternate, please send my way!

These Annie Bing booties are a fave of mine. That army green is a neutral - will go with anything - but is just a little different then the everyday black or brown.

Again - loving the mini studs on these - perfect amount of timeless detail. They also come in a black - can't go wrong with either color or a Rag and Bone bootie of any style.

My last is kinda laughable but truly what I spend bout 30-40% of my time in - THE SLIPPER - this is an invaluable show in my closet..and something I look forward to putting on most mornings and evenings, so why not showcase it. There are really only two options for comfort and durability. I also feel they need to be replaced every year - Christmas seems like a good time to replace to me but, do what you will.

These are what I wear and I love them. I've had both these and the LL Bean and I like these a bit more-they don't get too hot..important in So Cal.

Can't go wrong on a LL Bean slipper - and I love the red!

So, that's it! Hope you've enjoyed meandering through a few of my fave shoes for this New Year|New Season. Wishing you all the best 2018 has to offer..and as always, keep your beautiful life|style|simple.
