It's here...my favorite fashion season (second to Fall), Spring! Everything seems to have a freshness to it..a new beginning, a new "Spring". And who doesn't love a new start? I remind myself to live a new start every day. Really. I wake up and before getting out of bed, I say to myself, "today is a new day". These are words to live by in all facets of life..motherhood, marriage, friendship, all of it. If we didn't embrace the feeling of renewal, where would we begin from when things go awry? So, give yourself that fresh start...and a break too. :)
So! On that note, here are a few things I'm newly vibe-ing for Spring in the clothes, accessories, makeup and hair department (those last two aren't my specialty by any means but I like what I like so I thought I'd share)...and these pics are for inspo-no direct links..if you need shopping ideas or have any questions, just email me!
No surprise here but Stripes..it's all about the stripe. And I don't mean just a t-shirt (which is a staple) but on a shoe, dress, purse, anything goes. They are bolder and brighter options too..so go for it! Have a little fun with this nautical necessity.
The kitten heel..I LOVE. It's super cute and can be sexy in the right shade..but most important - they don't KILL your foot! These MUST be paired with a distressed pair of jeans or trouser so as not to age the shoe but instead give it an edge. Meeee-ow.
The Ear...I'm currently obsessed with my ears and the piercings. I only have the typical three on one side, two on the other (gotta keep it an odd number!) but I can see how this can become an addiction! I'm too much of a wuss to go further with any more anywhere else but I love dressing up my ears in little tid bits of sparkle and fun that adds to any look.
For those that are happy with the single piercing (I totally get it), try an ear climber or a cute little cuff. These are also super fun and add a little edge to your mood. Give it a whirl!
Dainty necklaces are my fave. If I'm being honest, I'm kinda over the statement necklace. I don't mind a brass one or gold but the colored ones just seem a little dated to me. Besides, the look of layering a few petite baubles is timeless and adds a bit of flair to ANY look!
The BOLD red or BRIGHT pink lip. I recently went to an 80's themed party and had painted on hot pink lips..and I loved it! In the past I'd stick with the muted gloss over the Spice Mac liner for a night out, but no longer. For a night on the town, I'm all about the bold! Keep the eye super mute and mellow and brighten up that pout. Just use extreme precision when putting it on and have fun!
I also sported the teal eyeliner to the 80s shin dig (which I would NOT normally do WITH the pink lip!) and I loved it. Again, if you go down that road, then keep it mute and mellow on the lip! Maybe the 80s are slowly making a comeback?!
I'm still obsessed with the ombre hair. If it's wrong, then I don't wanna be right. I just love the look of it and the instant lift it gives your face. I think it can add a youthful look at any age and it keeps things fresh and fun. And a layered and messy bob/lob is my go to. It's easy, fun and fresh. Who do you trust to make these decisions?? Well, when it comes to dressing your tresses, I trust no other than Mina and Nikki at Easthaven salon. I know myself, and many of my fine feathered friends, trust them too. They are magicians over there. I just tell them 'do what you want!' and I've never been disappointed! Click here to check em' out!!
That's it! Welcome Spring! Take a walk outside, enjoy those later lit nights, clean out those closets :) get ready for this glorious season...and don't forget..Keep that Spring in your step..today is always a NEW day.
